What Favicon Generator does
Favicon Generator scales a supported source into transparent square canvases while preserving its aspect ratio. The artwork is centered rather than cropped, so a wide or tall logo can retain its full shape with open space around it.
The ZIP contains PNG files at 16, 32, 48, 180, 192, 256, and 512 pixels. It also includes favicon.ico with 16, 32, 48, and 256-pixel PNG frames for readers that choose among embedded sizes.
How to use Favicon Generator
- Choose one PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, WebP, or AVIF source up to 20 MB, or a safe SVG up to 2 MB.
- Generate the favicon package and wait while each size is rendered.
- Download the ZIP, inspect the small icons, and deploy only the files your site needs.
Important details
Artwork is contained, not cropped
Each source is fitted inside a square canvas at its original aspect ratio. Transparent padding may appear on two sides when the artwork itself is not square.
Small sizes need visual checking
Fine text and thin lines can disappear at 16 or 32 pixels even when the 512-pixel image looks clear. Open the generated small files at actual size and simplify the source if necessary.
Practical uses
- Prepare browser-tab icons for a new website or web application.
- Generate Apple touch and common web-app PNG sizes from one logo.
- Package consistent favicon assets for a developer handoff.
Privacy and limitations
The source is decoded and every icon is assembled locally. Neither the original artwork nor the ZIP is uploaded to PagesTools.
One raster source up to 20 MB or safe SVG up to 2 MB is accepted. The generator does not write a web manifest or HTML tags, remove a background, sharpen tiny artwork, or guarantee that detailed logos remain recognizable at favicon scale.
