This PagesTools tool uses Registration Data Access Protocol, or RDAP, rather than scraping a traditional text WHOIS server. RDAP returns structured JSON over HTTPS and supports standardized fields for domain status, registrar entities, registration events, name servers, and DNSSEC information. The result is easier to validate and present consistently, although each registry still decides which fields it publishes.

Enter a complete public domain such as example.com. PagesTools normalizes the name, requests the public RDAP bootstrap service, follows only a bounded safe redirect path, and extracts a limited set of operational fields. RDAP and traditional WHOIS
